Quotes
BATMAN: The Joker will be extra cautious this time. We'll have to think like him. . . or recruit someone who does.
--
BATMAN: I need help.
HARLEY: Well, you've come to the right place! I recommend a lobotomy.
--
HARLEY: Oh, the irony of it! The grim stalwart Dark Knight and his greatest female adversary fighting together to save the city!
--
BATMAN: Listen and listen good. You don't touch anything, say anything or do anything unless I tell you, got it!
HARLEY: Yes sir.
--
BATMAN: What's the attraction, Quinn? This sick attraction with the Joker?
HARLEY: Look, Bats. When I was a doctor I was always listening to other people's problems then I met Mister J who listened to me for a change and made everything fun.
BATMAN: You think it's funny when he hurts people?
HARLEY: It's just a joke.
BATMAN: Hope you're still laughing when it's your turn.
--
HARLEY: A flat.
I never knew that our romance had ended
Until you poisoned my food;
And I thought it was a lark
When you kicked me in the park
But now I think it was rude.

I never knew that you and I were finished
Until that bottle hit my head;
Though I tried to be aloof
When you pushed me off the roof
I feel our romance is dead.

It wouldn't have been so bad if you had told me
That someone had taken my place
But no, no you didn't even scold me
You just tried to disfigure my face

You'll never know how this heart of mine is breaking
It looks so hopeless but then
Life used to be so placid
Won't you please put down that acid
And say that we're sweethearts again?
Yeah!
--
HARLEY: Did you see the way I handled those creeps? Pow! Bam! Batgirl, eat your heart out!
ROBIN: What was she before she went bonkers?
BATMAN: A clinical psychiatrist.
ROBIN: Figures.
--
HARLEY: See, do I know how Mister J thinks, or what? Ha! And here you thought I was just another bubble-headed-blonde-bimbo! Well the joke's on you, I'm not even a real blonde!
--
JOKER: Send down the plane, boys! We're blowing town! Literally. . .
THUG: Yes sir!
HILL: But all those innocent people!
JOKER: Some joke on them, eh? Think of it as the ultimate punch line!
--
ROBIN: It's lucky you were here, Harley. The countdown sequence didn't leave Joker enough time to swing by Arkham and pick you up.
JOKER: Quiet, brat.
HARLEY: You were going to come back for me, weren't you, puddin'?
JOKER: Of course, pumpkin pie! It's just that, uh-- here you are! So I can. . . save myself a trip!
HARLEY: But what about all our friends! Ivy and Two-Face and. . . Hat-Guy and. . . Lizard-Man and. . . Puppet-Head. . .
JOKER: What about them?
BATMAN: Don't forget your little pets!
HARLEY: The babies! We can't leave the babies!
JOKER: I'll buy you a goldfish! Let's go!
HARLEY: No!
JOKER: Why you little--
HARLEY HITS HIM AND RUNS TOWARDS BATMAN.
HARLEY: You know, Bats, I got a crazy idea Mister J may not be the guy for me after all!
--
JOKER: That bomb's going off even if I go with it! Ha ha ha ha ha!
HARLEY: Laugh this off, puddin'!
--
JOKER: Baby! You're the greatest!

Review: This episode is hilarious! The whole thing is very well thought out and put together whereas it keeps Batman and Robin dark, but makes a wild comic sensation with Joker and Harley. Great scenes include Harley's song in Boxy's club, Harley and Batman 'teaming-up' in the Asylum, Joker's attitude towards Harley at the end, Batman and Robin's turning of Harley against Joker, and the constant comments back and forth between all of the characters. I personally enjoyed when Batman was hitting his head against the craps table during Harley's song. Also, this is the only Batman episode where the fade out at the end is in the shape of a heart!

The animation was good, and the bubbly drawings suited Joker and Harley while they kept solid and true to form for Batman and Robin. The plane sequence at the end was very well put together, especially scenes with the knocked-silly Joker using the machine gun, and the 'frozen' shots of Harley staring at the plane in the distance.

All together, this run-a-day plot idea where a good guy has to enlist the aid of a bad-guy was masterfully put together to create one of the best, and surprisingly psychological, Batman episodes to date!
