MAN: Fear's a prison, y'see, and I've just broken out!
--
BRUCE: Playing hookie?
TIM: It's summer vacation! How'd you forget that?
BRUCE IS SILENT.
TIM: Never mind, I forgot who I was talking to.
--
SCARECROW: Welcome to the food chain.
--
ROBIN: This gas that takes away your fears. . . by any chance did you
breathe it?
BATMAN: Yes. But I can handle it.
--
BATMAN: You didn't answer my question.
GURU: I can't! He'll kill me!
BATMAN: Death is death. Does it matter who administers it?
--
BATMAN: This isn't the time for games. Now untie me!
ROBIN: It's no game. You're out of control.
BATMAN: You don't know what you're talking about.
ROBIN: That gas has effected you more that you think.
BATMAN: I told you: I can handle it.
ROBIN: You can't!! You're not even afraid to kill. I'll be back for you
as soon as I can.
BATMAN: Robin, it's hard for me to say this, but you did the right
thing. I was out of control and you made me see that.
ROBIN: I did what I had to.
BATMAN: What now?
ROBIN: I've got to stop the Scarecrow.
BATMAN: I can help you. I know him.
ROBIN: But--
BATMAN: Don't worry, you'll be the boss on this one.
ROBIN WALKS TOWARDS BATMAN AND THEN STOPS.
ROBIN: You almost fooled me.
ROBIN TURNS AND WALKS TOWARDS THE BATWING.
BATMAN: Untie me you little-- Untie me!!
--
SCARECROW: Fear is power.
--
SCARECROW: You'll get us killed!
BATMAN: You're not trying to scare me, are you?
Review: An excellent episode,
showing the darker side of Batman with no fear. Excellent scenes
included Bruce versus a group of alligators, Batman flying the Batwing
with no fear, Batman interrogating Scarecrow's Guru, and Robin
restraining Batman from pursuing Scarecrow.
This episode also had Batman using a bit more detective skills, not
much, but a bit more which, as said before, is lacking in this newest
season of Batman.
Wonderful animation and drawing in this episode as well, with great and
smooth fighting, and character / vehicle proportions. This was also a
very dark episode, with lots of black and dark red used to make things
more eerie.
