The episode starts out as Superman moves in to investigate a blackhole. Upon scanning it, he sees another ship is on it's way to get sucked in. He's able to stop the ship in time and then checks to see which planet they came from--a planet not far from the black hole. He puts the ship back down on the planet and later learns those he rescued were convicts from the planet "New Krypton"--a planet ruled by Jax-Ur and Mala.

A very satisfying episode, but I've never been the biggest fan of the duo of Jax-Ur and Mala for some reason, however, they did very well as the villians in this episode. One of the more surprising aspects of this episode was the turning of Mala's lead guard, Alterus--in the end he helped Superman and Cetea escape from Jax-Ur and Mala's ship.

The end battle was one of the coolest things I'd seen in the series, with the destruction of the ship and Jax-Ur and Mala's descent into the black hole--which created a "Warping" effect seen earlier in the episode with debris.
